KYO-WA is a suite of three parts that Satoshi Yagisawa composed individually for a symphonic wind orchestra from 2008 to 2010. The word KYO in the title is a Japanese homonym that can mean both "resonance" and "togetherness", "cooperation" and "competition". WA means "harmony" and "peace". Yagiswa processed these ideas and a wide range of feelings of sorrow, fear and hope to delight in a piece that is typical of his new compositional style.
