Collection Jean-Yves Fourmeau
Dedicated to Marcel Mule, the Concertino for alto saxophone by Paul Pierné (1874-1952) was written in 1945, and published by Lucien de Lacour in 1946.
This work seduced by its elegance, characteristic of French composition of the time and has been very unjustly forgotten. It consists of three movements in which the saxophone is first entrusted with a declamatory and brilliant role, then interprets a sweet lament to finally lead us into a ternary dance with a shimmering style.
