""Variations sur quatre haïkus" for cello were composed in 2009 for Florian Lauridon, who premiered them in January 2010 in Paris, during a concert of the ensemble Itineraire. These four small pieces are inspired by Japanese haikus by Buson ("Spring Rain ..."), Sodô ("Having contemplated the moon ..."), Issa ("The cool breeze ...") and Bashô ("In the midst of the plain ... ").
