performed by Justin Wellinton feat. Small Jam
Iko Iko is a much-covered song from New Orleans that tells of a parade-clash between two tribes of Mardi Gras Indians and the traditional confrontation. The song, under the original title Jock-A-Mo, was written in 1953. Australian singer Justin Wellington recorded his version of Iko Iko in 2017, with the Solomon Island group Small Jam. The cover was released on 3 June 2019 and began gaining popularity in 2021 after it went viral on social platform TikTok. The arrangement for concert band, fanfare and brass band is by Johny Ocean.
