- Midnight Sun
Pop und Rock
The evocative Jazz standard Midnight Sun was originally written as an instrumental by Lionel Hampton (1908-2002) and Sonny Burke (1914-1980) in 1947. The story goes that Jonny Mercer (1909-1976) heard the song on his car radio when he was driving from Palm Springs to Hollywood in 1954, and started to set lyrics to the music as he drove along. Most famously recorded by the Jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald, it has since been released by dozens of different artists. This classic song has been transcribed for Piano, Voice, and Guitar, with Boxed Chord symbols for easy use.
