Fluttering, and sneaking into the percussion’s part in its wilful, agile and quick rhythm, the virtuoso and flexible saxophone incorporates the sound proposals inspired by the eponymous poem by Thomas Brando, which is a kind of suite of indications, phrase by phrase, from the beginning to the end of the work.

The saxophone’s part consists of seemingly free melodic, harmonic and rhythmic profiles, which the performer colours with extended techniques as echoes to the fragments of the poem, with allusions to various styles and palos of flamenco... A work whose balance of colours and dynamics rely more than ever on the imagination of the performers and their talent as colourists. [Denis Dufour]
